Mojito, is quite easy to make, really. Although this traditional Cuban cocktail incorporates citrus lemon flavor with rum's sharp potency, it is not entirely impossible to prepare it in the comforts of your own kitchen. For a quick mojito fix, you can just easily buy a mojito cocktail mix for instance.



But of course, nothing beats a mojito drink that has been prepared traditionally. In order to make a perfect mojito, lime juice and sugar are MUDDLED not just combined together. A simple juice mix won't be able to give you the best possible representation of the authentic Cuban mojito flavor. And so, if you wish to serve great mojito cocktails to your guests, you must be willing to exercise some diligence in "muddling" and mixing your ingredients.



The first step in making mojito traditionally is of course securing its basic ingredients which include 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar, 1 lime, 4 mint leaves, 1 sprig of mint, 2 ounces of rum, and 2 ounces of club soda. You need to place all the mint leaves in a mojito glass and squeeze over it the lime. Take note that you need to produce about 2 ounces of lime juice to achieve the greatest citrus flavor possible and so, if one piece is not enough feel free to cut another one. The next step is to add sugar and smash the mint into the lime juice mixture using a muddler (You can also use the back or a pork or spoon if one is not available, mind you). Add ice, then rum and stir. Top with soda. To garnish, add mint sprig into the glass.
